kinectic typography video, 2024
This project was developed as part of a final assessment for the Typography II course at the University of the Algarve.
Using a video as the foundation, we created an animation inspired by an excerpt from the song “Do You Realize??” by The Flaming Lips. The piece reflects on universal themes such as the brevity of life, self-reflection, consumption, love, and family.
The main objective of the project was to explore kinetic typography as a means of conveying emotion and meaning through typographic personality and motion dynamics. The animation combines expressive movement and thoughtful composition to enhance the song’s tone.
Developed using Procreate and Adobe Photoshop, the work demonstrates how typography can transcend static form to become a visual and emotional experience.
